Late night... blog time!

Nanotext… someone who created much thought, laughter, you name it… just scroll through his wall! It would probably take me quite some time to accomplish such a feat but if time permits one might decide to reads this wall and actually feel as if they know this person. What nanotext created was great I see nanotext’s so called death more of what I would like to call a metamorphis of sorts like a caterpillar to a butterfly… There are a myriad of reasons behind this switch to alias’s one being spontaneity, who saw that one coming ? Many have already grown attached to this awesome character and I can’t blame them, I which I could take more classes like this, I actually learn when I am enjoying something and that’s what a lot of teachers are lacking these days, they don’t show interest in student learning and comprehension, he doesn’t just show them one path, he gives them infinite amounts of choices, leaving it up to the student to learn, he is simply the tour guide pointing out the highlights. Reading the title of this class I was completely confused and interested at the same time simply because of the final, TRhis class satisfied one of my GUR’s and had room available I was sold, After the first and second day of class I was completely sold. I now realize why Tony Prichard possess’s so many previous students, at times its hard to follow their thinking when they have past references that some of us “newbies” aren’t as familiar with, but that’s life and you have to learn somewhere! This class actually gives me inspirtation in my studies and I have never done so much un-convential reading in my life, and I love it, I just wish I had more hours in a day and had no other priorities so I could read books that people suggest. That would be a great hobby. Back to the metamorphosis of our author, he narrates our book that we are all writing, the book begins with time and dates on the great wall of plurk and then rides the wonderful new technology wave called googlewave. This class has changed the dynamics of the classroom in so many ways and this allows for more creation, thought, experiments etc to occur. It is like a reproducing parasite of knowledge, bullshit, etc etc etc.

I feel as if this class will inevitably end up as the preface to The Vampire Lectures, stemming from a 50 person class to 600+ How would you guide the thought process there? Its hard enough to get a group involved in the learning process, especially while in class, when most of the time you are unfamiliar with the person. The_author’s methods have completely changed my outlook in the world where many others have not. I feel as if I know people in my classroom or students who are also taking the class, their “true” personality somehow shows whether it is fake or real. The_author has employed what everyone knows as a “community” or as some like to call it “church” both connotations suit the title very well in my humble opinion J. This community draws not upon one simple source, our topics we discuss are not as simple as one plus two equals three. We can create great things and are a smelting pot of grew ideas, I think an awesome Idea for a class would be to spend the entire quarter creating something, it would have to be done in groups that you would arrange or as a whole and you could see what comes about , maybe don’t ask for much, people like to over achieve for the most part anyways, especially when it comes to competition, who doesn’t love competition . We have realized the feeling of competition our entire lives, Men fight wars for land, such a boast of power. We are controlled by these fat cats on wall street who put us into this stupid economic crisis, I am not economist here but seriously, If we didn’t have to rely on whats known as a dollar we wouldn’t have to worry about what these people do.

Everyone is a criminal, but where is the line in the sand drawn? I break the speed limit every single day, I am still a safe and aware individual, riding a motorcycle causes you to notice completely everything about your surroundings, or else you are sliding on pavement, very unforgiving. Anyways I break the speed limit but I don’t consider myself to be a criminal, Criminals are those who wish to do harm unto others and these type of individuals drive me completely crazy, I have always wanted to be some sort of cop/detective/marshall/sheriff/investigator you name it. If it involved solving crimes committed by bad inviduals I want to find some evidence and convict this person if guilty. Long have I thought about joining the armed forces, or a FBI agent CIA, you know something real legitimate J They will find me if they need me, My grandmother died of breast cancer at a very young age, I have very very few memories with her, plenty of pictures of my beautiful grandma, she reminds me completely of my mother and her two sister, both of which are the coolest family I could ever ask for, Oh and they also have a brother, who is even more of a very very close relative. My father’s side of the family is massive I probably have around 12 cousins or so on my father’s side. My grand parents mean a lot to me as well, this last spring when applying for western my grandmother was diagnosed with breast cancer… great. I was terrified about losing another one of the most important people in my life.

Cancer… It kills, causes pain and is completely evil. Carcinogens are known as “cancer causing compounds” I believe, don’t quote me on this, but they can obviously be very harmful to you. I believe, once again don’t quote me on this,( I don’t have internet right now my brother is playing vids, So no google J)( Cancer happens when your DNA somehow becomes mutated. One morning traveling to school listening to the radio I heard claims that Johnson and Johnson baby shampoos used compounds that would synthesize new carcinogenic compounds… And we would put this on babies heads? The truth is we always receive radiation which causes mutation of the DNA, some of this can be prevented, such as using sunscreen. Back to cancer, The thing I wish to destroy and prevent the recreation of. It has killed one two many people in this world and I would love the chance to save more, this is one of the reasons I am majoring in chemistry, hoping this will help me someway get on that path to creating something or helping create a process or discovery otherwise in the field of medicine, cancer research disease etc. Cancer has already taken my ggrandmother, I don't want it to take yours as well, we all know we can do things to decrease these chances of getting certain types of cancer and I try and takje as many precautions as possible. Ugh... parasites!

This message will self destruct in 5 seconds.

Where are we going? what a question... this question definitely has no answer for me, personally. I have plenty of things that I would like, or even better yet, love to do. But this would result in nothing being completed, of course this is from a certain point of view. Everyone would like to feel as if they have accomplished something in their life, that distinguishes their personal skills and knowledge. This is usually a most difficult thing to accomplish for many many reasons. I would love to play video games all day and night long, or even create my own the way I see a perfect video game. This can be done alone, self-taught, but I am sure it would be a most laborious task. Instead groups of people collaborate to create a single organism to mass produce and sell to the public. Without the potential for making money, these groups would not exist.

Money makes the world turn. At least in the western world. Without money or an accepted form of currency such as gold, we would not be "where" we are today. I'm reminded of this show called "Meet the Natives" where these "Native" men from a place called Tanna, which I believe to be a island somewhere in the pacific. Anyways they visit a cattle ranch, after seeing the hundreds of cattle one of the men comments and says something along the lines of "he has a lot of cattle he must be rich" and one of the other men responded talking about how we are all specialized in our lives because we live off of money, whereas they need to provide for themselves and their family. If they need something they need to barter for it, they can't just walk down to one of the 100 supermarkets/convenience stores within a few mile radius. The different walks of life that still manage to exist within our money infected world amaze me.

Is being completely specialized in your career/life choice a good idea? When it comes to working with a larger group, having specialized people would be the best bet in order to be efficient in accomplishments, just like when creating a video game! We all grow up trying to find our true self and our talents and lack of talents. Eventually we will settle on a career choice, possibly even what's called a career "path" and many end up repeating their actions many and many times over again, some careers allow the workplace to differ, but their overall duty is the same. If our society for some reason collapsed, what would we do then? Life as I, or we see it, will cease to exist. We will be forced to rebuild our infrastructure to form one organism, or we will each learn to be self sufficient such as the natives.

Being able to be self sufficient allows one to not have to rely on others. Which all of us whether we realize it or not, depend on each other so we can live how we wish to live. Millions would starve if for some reason supermarkets weren't receiving food, which would result if millions dying. Those who already have gardens full of food and ranches where they can produce food are more likely to survive and continue on, whereas people such as myself would perish if unable to adapt.
So where are we going? We all tend to be able to see where we would like to be, the roads to this destination almost always tend to be in a zig zag pattern. I have been trying to decide what I would like to do for the rest of my life but with so many choices and thinks I would like to have it is very difficult to see where I am going. Plans change, especially with me, I have no idea what I see myself doing, or where I see myself at. I have been taking college level classes since 2006-2007, originally with an interest in biology, and quickly changing my major to chemistry just because of the options presented to chemistry majors. Being a completely undecided young/old individual my only plan as of now is to complete my degree. After obtaining my bachelors in chemistry I will be the only person in my family with a college level degree. Both of my parents attended college for a brief amount of time, my mother's much longer than my dad's measely 7 months in college.

I have no idea where I am going, and there are so many things that I wish to accomplish in life. My mother's mother died from breast cancer when I was very young, I have one faint memory of this completely awesome individual, I assume she was awesome based on how completely outstanding my mother is. Just this past year my father's mother was diagnosed with breast cancer. After losing one of the most important people in my life, I would be absolutely crushed to lose another grandmother. This has made my life goal to cure cancer or at least find a way to help prevent and treat. This, like many other things, requires money, people, and time. There are things that prevent me from getting to where I want to go and take my life. Many paths we all take end up leading no where, or eventually after many zig zags back and forth we eventually find our way. Is that where we want to go though? My major was chosen in order to assure me that jobs for chemistry majors were plentiful and well paid so I will be able to indulge in meaningless material possesions, My dream is to reach a level of wealth similiar to Bill Gates, Just so I could donate money to organizations and people who could benefit much more than I would ever be able to benefit from. Money infects us all and most of us are concerned about money, even homeless people depend on money given to them in order to keep comfortable, eat, survive, or waste their money on unnecessary items such as drugs. Money in my eyes is the most popular parasite of all. We all depend on money and without money we as humans struggle to survive.
This is money seized from a supposed mexican drug lord, my mother sent me this. Just goes to show how greedy people are. Money is what drives us all and has essentially become mostly a part of our daily lives. If I had this quantity of cash sitting in a room inside my mansion(which I will also post pictures of), I definitely wouldn't have anything to do with drugs. Parasites like this will stop at nothing to make money and life is worth nothing to them. If drugs were completely legal and easily obtainable would people like this exist? No, well they would, just in another form such as the tobacco companies, those fat cats make copious amounts of money to kill people and flood their lives with numerous carcinogens on a daily basis. Along with this email my mother sent me contained pictures of many many many firearms and ammunition as if this guy owned his own armory. This individual even owned large cats... Not house cats.. Money has infected this person so much that he now owns none of it, and will be most likely in jail for the rest of his life. The militia have removed a single parasite from our lives and in return we just have another to fill this persons shoes. When will it ever stop?!

So where are we going again? Who knows, After a destination is agreed on there will be numerous ways of approaching and tackling our ideas, interests and concepts. We all have a direction we would like to pursue but this makes agreeing on a general direction almost impossible, there are infinite ways we are able to reach a destination, the path is the most difficult part of the journey.

In response to your comment, Joe Kostylo

First of all I thoroughly enjoy your way of thinking! You're thoughts on the middleman being the parasite and the relationships you establish make perfect sense to me. I love how you incorporated Serres "Every society founded on work is a police state… in the end it comes down to eliminating grasshoppers." Your concept on how parasites will always be around cannot be falsified. We see this everyday, as much as our society tries to rid ourselves of a parasite it always manages to exist or pop-up somewhere. This is seen in Dracula, Dracula procreates these new vampires which will repeat the process, but this is also the case for Van Helsing. There will always be a Van Helsing character as long as there is a Dracula character. Analogously there will always be characters such as Dracula's first mistress and characters such as Harker. These relationships are obvious but your thinking thinks even deeper and that's what I like about your blog, your analogies are flawless and I absolutely LOVE analogies. You point out to me the view of a third perspective, that of the middleman.

Van Helsing seems as though he enjoys killing vampires, even if its his best friend, he seems to almost benefit from vampire hunting. But it's hard to comprehend exactly how he personally benefits from this.. I think this is because he doesn't benefit at all from killing vampires, he at least once, if not twice speaks of being able to rid the world of this terror named Dracula, it seems as though he does this for the benefit of the rest of the world. Which we know to be true, without Van Helsing. Dracula would most likely still be alive and we would all be vampires by now(or up on stakes) what a terrible mental image.

Lord Dracula...

Today's film was very interesting as a first time viewer. In the context of parasites the most obvious relationship with Dracula is how he tends to represent a parasite. Lord Dracula in this movie feeds off of other people during the night by biting peoples necks, mostly women, and sucking their blood. Although we never actually see this feeding taking place it is implied in many scenes and then the scene fades away, only to see the vampires with blood on their chin later. This all to me comes off as a perfect parisitic relationship with dracula being the parasite and humans being the host. The host, humans, are the food for Dracula just as in many parasite symbiosis.

This movie is a big conundrum for me, he turns some of his hosts into parasites themselves to live alongside of him, others we assume he randomly feeds off of during the night. What was the point of Dracula fighting off his first mistress to save Harker? I think that is his name. Is it because he wanted to feed off of Harker himself? The film made it difficult to understand what Dracula was doing with his victims. It appears as though whenever Dracula would bite another woman their emotions would be very scattered, they seemed as if they were looking forward to being fed off of yet scared at the same time. The anticipation and hesitation mixed together are hard to interpret. The relationship between Dracula and his victims is also very mixed and confusing.

Van Helsing who is essentially the backup or reserve for Harker introduces a twist into the relationships of Dracula with everyone else in the film. Van Helsing seems to have one focus in life and that is killing Lord Dracula. He is a doctor by profession but his obsession/life seems to be with the destruction of Dracula and saving the world from him. In a certain context Van Helsing can be seen as the parasite getting his thrill or food from killing vampires. He realizes that once Dracula has turned them they need to be killed with a steak. Van Helsing kills his best friend, Harker, once he has found him laying in the crypt along with Dracula's initial mistress that Harker managed to kill. Van Helsing's hosts' are the vampires he manages to kill. The more I ponder upon this thought it becomes more obvious that this relationship seems to exist within the movie. Many different relationships exist within this movie...

We as humans want to just point the finger at Dracula and accuse him as being the parasite because he feeds off of us. Yet some of the characters in the movie tend to feed off of Dracula and his power himself. Others feed off of him to destroy him. Who is the host and who is the parasite? This parasitism isn't a one way road as some would suggest such as Michael.

What am I to do with these words in college, they must be full of knowledge!

What to do with words? Words are a very, by very or muy in spanish, I mean that words by definition are exceedingly parasitic in nature and have been since the word parasite has been defined. I say this because of the way words are able to infect us, us of course referring to our minds, whatever those are. A topic can be brought to your attention and for some reason this word, topic, fragment of words or even just a simple thought, can basically exist within oneself essentially until the end of time or ones time if adequate memory and interest exists. Words are eternally bonded with us as humans, we are social creatures so words obviously go hand in hand. So are we the parasites feeding off of words or is it the other way around? People or parasites use words to create copious amounts of texts, songs, plays, movies, etc. in order to sell them to create revenue for the most part theses days but I know it was not always such. Many create utterances to simply entertain others, being social creatures that have so much at our finger tips we, I suppose I can only speak for myself, so I are always seeking out something to entertain us. Entertainment easily can be described as a parasite from it's ability to distract you from your task at hand and what you are trying to accomplish. As I write this my room mate and his friends laughter not only entertain me but eat away at me. There laughter reproduces more thoughts as I wonder what made them laugh so uncontrollable. What a wonderful parasite. In the right context everything is a parasite! Oh what you have done! Thinking multi-directional can get you lost in your own context quite rapidly. Let's finish those initial thoughts and put them into con_text, directly into the blank spot.
Why are words so powerful? After all they are just words, but place words together in a certain configuration and you have something that is able to come to life and influence you and your thoughts. The old saying goes "the pen is mightier than the sword" which I have always found to not be falsifiable. Depending on the context of course. If you want to influence other people and become a powerful breeding parasite then you use words, if you want to be a weak minded and create an end then you will use a sword. Cults, Religions, Governments, Clubs, Colleges and communities all became so because of words and their power to influence others. While the sword has only introduced death and pain. Words create more words, they are never ending. Which might be why they are so powerful. The sword doesn't carry on throughout time such as words will, as mentioned today the only two things to survive a thermonuclear apocalypse one being the cockroach and the other being the internet. The internet having seemingly no limit to the amount of words saved into cyberspace as well as pictures which are said to be "worth a thousand words". Maybe I have stumbled upon one of the many reasons behind the saying of the pen is mightier than the sword. One being that they will be around eternally whereas the sword deteriorates and rusts. Another being the influence and power words can have over people. People join cults, religions, clubs etc. due to words, not because someone threatened them with death, which I'm sure exists in some extreme cases. I have always been heavily influenced with words but never really thought of what I can do with them until this class. Extremists and terrorists use both. Osama bin Laden, who I hope is hiding in a small hole just like Saddam was when he was caught, just released another video hoping to incite fear into Americans by saying he praises the christmas underwear bomber and that more attacks are coming. In this context his words would probably be meaningless if he had no sword, but because of the 9/11 attacks I have to take his words literally. Without words I would not be here, wherever here is, right now I am referring to college. This class wouldn't be here, this college would most likely not be here, the buildings would not be complete, I would not have moved here from my hometown if it weren't for words. Words have done so much and will eternally continue to contribute exponentially to not only our social life but to everything our social lives entail. Without language and communication would we have anything? We surely wouldn't possess words to describe the things we would have. What can we do with words? The answer is anything and everything associated to it. That is why the pen is mightier than the sword. Because the sword will continue to do what it was created for, to end someones life. Which I'm most sure the idea of a death instrument spawned from an exchange in words. The sword thus only creates one thing, the end, whereas the word creates an infinite number of ideas, words etc. etc. etc. With our world coming to an end so quickly who has time to use a sword effectively. Words are more infectious than the sword, and thus will always be more mightier and powerful than the sword, until the end of time.

Parasitism - What a symbiotic relationship YOU and I have!

My Youtube poem. Followed with some words/parasites!

The darkest nights
Babe
Whip it
Upside down
I ran
Forever
We will rock you

Beat it
Billie Jean
The way you make me feel
Bad
Smooth Criminal
Will you be there
In the closet
Black or white
Thriller
Don't stop til you get enough.

First of all I would like to say that parasites has to be one of the most stimulating topics!
Words are very powerful yet weak in the same sense. I, DylanMacy, whoever that is, learned at a young age that sticks and stones will break my bones but words will never hurt me! Words are just that, words. Our language is full of parasites because people have said so. These established bad words or parasites to many are infections. To people like me they are nothing but words, words and more words! You the reader and I have an incredible symbiotic relationship at this point if you are still reading this most insightful post of nonsense. I'm not exactly sure about who is the host and whos the parasite? Maybe you will somewhat benefit from reading this post, if I was narcissistic I would say that you the reader will definitely benefit from reading this. The more likely is that I am the parasite benefitting from you.

On an unrelated note America's Funniest Videos will turn my worst day seem a distant past. That is probably one of my favorite shows on tv, statistically speaking 95% of television is parisitism at it's best but there are those select programs that provide legitimate entertainment and knowledge.

The recent tragedy in Haiti makes me feel for other people. Recent reports estimate the death toll in the tens if not the hundreds of thousands and many more are suffering, trapped or dying as I type this. This might be one of the biggest major tragedies in recent history. I feel like I need to help those in need, especially the good people in this world that deserve nothing more than to be helped by others when in need. The world today through my eyes is already full of complete mayhem and natural disasters. We have enough parasites in this world or have had enough of them infect our world in the past. Haiti already has enough troubles I am sure, I don't think they are of the richest in the world. I know we as Americans are having a hard time with our economy, many are out of work, but our lives are still better than many people in the world. We need to help Haiti not only because it's the right thing to do but because they NEED our help. Besides the world is going to end in 2012 anyways right? You're numbers in a bank or your paper money will mean nothing then! Donate to a cause instead of needless spending! Texting the number 90999 with the message "Haiti" will donate ten dollars to the cause. I hope all of the fat cats on wall street are donating something, if they aren't I wouldn't think twice about slapping them on the wrist, more than one time, very hard. Just so I could ask them the rhetorical question: how does that feel? This question needs no answer from a parasite! People who donate their money simply because they are able to over and over again such as Bill Gates make me have faith in mankind. While people such as Hitler make me fear how completely barbaric man can be.

People are completely infected with technology now that those who aren't are most likely missing out on something. 50 years ago computers were nothing yet now we have incredibly fast computing, powerful, light, small, computers and screens with incredible gaming graphics for people who have grown up on video games. The change from Atari to nintendo to the most recent gaming systems is incredible. The great things people are capable of always seem to be balanced out by the horrible things people are capable of, every day somewhere someone inflicts pain on other people for their own benefit, these parasites, parasites really are everywhere, prey on people and only harm others. I wish I was able to understand why people commit such atrocious crimes on their fellow man/woman. I don't know if it was the way I was raised or its due to my empathy. Maybe I know not to commit crimes against other people just because this I believe is a Moral code that should be followed by everyone, this might be from my simple belief in karma. I also believe that good things happen to good people, in a perfect world this would be true!

I apologize for bouncing around on topics, thats just the way I think, from one topic to another I guess. Science is my chosen topic in education. I feel like science is able to make a positive difference in peoples lives in so many ways. Science has done alot of good for us but on the opposite end of the spectrum has spawned the meaning of the word atrocious to increase exponentially. Science has created the atomic bomb, and the hydrogen bomb, which then led to inventions such as the doomsday clock which people would speculate as to how close the world is to ending. As if people weren't in enough fear of having someone break into their home or being attacked. Now they have to worry about a nuclear bomb atomizing them and if they survive that then will most likely suffer a death by radiation, which I couldn't even begin to imagine the pain involved. What can I do to prevent parasites from infecting the world?
